Survey & Mapping

Trihydro's UAS program has been audited and approved by multiple Fortune 500 companies, each requiring strict operational and safety protocols. We have completed more than 3,500 UAS flights with a variety of fixed-wing and multirotor aircraft using various sensors. Project data is processed by our in-house remote sensing staff of surveyors, geomatics engineers, and geographic information systems (GIS) professionals. UAS data sets are often large, and we have a custom-built UAS processing server dedicated to our UAS program to efficiently manage and process data. Trihydro's licensed professional surveyors are involved in each UAS project, setting up a project's coordinate base, establishing ground control targets, processing the control data, and performing data QC.

Our UAS program is tied directly to our survey program as low altitude photogrammetry supplements many of our survey and engineering projects by providing high-resolution background imagery and base mapping. Our UAS program continues to grow alongside the rapidly evolving technology in this dynamic field. We now offer LiDAR mapping using a UAS platform. Trihydro recognizes the importance of this technology and will continue to provide leading-edge UAS services to its clients.

Cartography is driven by data. We have substantial experience sourcing data from across our organization, including field data collected by subject matter experts, survey-grade data collected by our survey team, photogrammetric products produced by our UAS team, digital data generated from historical documents, and data generated as outputs from engineering models or spatial analysis within the GIS environment. We also routinely use data developed and produced by external sources, such as nationwide data produced by federal agencies (e.g. soils data from the Natural Resources Conservation Service [NRCS], floodplain data from Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA], wetlands data from the US Fish and Wildlife Service [USFWS], and National Hydrography Dataset [NHD] data from the US Geological Survey [USGS]).
